Indonesian legislative election, 2014 The 2014 Indonesian legislative elections to elect members of the Regional Representative Council and 560 seats of the People's Representative Council (DPR) will take place on 9 April 2014. A total of 46 parties registered to take part in the election, and these will now be verified by the General Elections Commission to ensure they meet the requirements, which are stricter than in previous elections. They include representation in every Indonesian province and a 30 percent female membership. Initially all parties with seats in the People's Representative Council were to be allowed to contest the election without the need for verification, but on 29 August 2012, Indonesia's Constitutional Court overturned this provision, obliging all parties to undergo the process. Indonesian presidential election, 2014 The next Indonesian presidential election will be held in July 9, 2014. It will be Indonesia's 3rd direct presidential election, and will elect a president for a five-year term. Incumbent president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is constitutionally barred from seeking a 3rd term in office. According to the 2009 election law, only parties or coalitions controlling 20% of DPR seats or winning 25% of the popular votes in the 2014 parliamentary elections will be eligible to nominate a candidate. This law is unlikely to be amended before the 2014 elections. Indonesia is working towards e-voting in the hope of implementing the new system in the 2014 general elections. The season scheduled begins on January 2013. This season is the season in which the merging of the two professional leagues in Indonesia Indonesian Premier League and Indonesian Super League (ISL) after the dualism of the competition since 2011.
