AkustiChrisye AkustiChrisye is a 1996 studio album by the Indonesian singer Chrisye which was produced by Erwin Gutawa. It includes acoustic versions of several of his earlier songs, as well as new material. The album focused on using acoustic music, which Chrisye described as simple but still requiring serious work. At the time the genre had seen a resurgence in Indonesia, with the state broadcaster TVRI carrying several shows which featured acoustic music. The audio was recorded at Studio 301 in Sydney, Australia, with a full orchestra providing backing in a period of three hours. Gutawa had chosen to record in Australia as better equipment was available there, and, although expensive, Aciu Widjaja of Musica Studios agreed immediately. Percik Pesona Percik Pesona is a 1979 album by Indonesian singer Chrisye. The album was received poorly, with Chrisye later reflecting that he had undergone 2nd album syndrome. Percik Pesona was Chrisye's 2nd solo album and 5th album overall. It was produced after the massive success of Chrisye's debut solo album Sabda Alam and soon after the death of Amin Widjaja, one of the founders of Musica Studios. Songwriting was handled by Chrisye, Jockie Soerjoprajogo, and Guruh Soekarnoputra. Backing vocals were provided by rising star Rafika Duri. Chrisye, although shocked by Amin's passing and feeling little passion for the music, provided the vocals, mixing pop and jazz; he also hit high notes on "Kehidupanku" ("My Life'). Chrisye Born in Jakarta of mixed Chinese-Indonesian descent, Chrisye became interested in music at an early age. At high school he played bass guitar in a band he formed with his brother, Joris. In the late 1960s he joined Sabda Nada, a band led by his neighbours, the Nasutions. In 1973, after a short hiatus, he rejoined the band to play in New York for a year. He briefly returned to Indonesia and then went back to New York with another band, the Pro's. After once again returning to Indonesia, he collaborated with Gipsy and Guruh Sukarnoputra to record the 1976 indie album Guruh Gipsy. Following the success of Guruh Gipsy, in 1977 Chrisye recorded two of his most critically acclaimed works: "Lilin-Lilin Kecil" by James F. Sundah, which eventually became his signature song, and the soundtrack album Badai Pasti Berlalu.
