Juanda International Airport Currently, Juanda International Airport is the hub of Indonesia AirAsia, Lion Air and Tigerair Mandala, along with Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. The airport has also been known as the secondary hub of Garuda Indonesia and the focus city of Citilink. Juanda International Airport 's new terminal is expected to open in November 2013 with a capacity of handling 6 million passengers per year. But it is still short of current demand. Opened on December 7, 1964 as a national army and naval air base of Indonesia. In its development it was also used for civil aviation. On December 24, 1990 Juanda Airport was gained international airport status after the opening of the international terminal. Previous international flights have been opened to Amsterdam, Guangzhou, London, Manila, Seoul, Sydney and Tokyo. A new three-story terminal building was opened on November 10, 2006.
